Hanna Krzysztofiak combines grotesque and kitsch aesthetics to delve into uncomfortable and difficult areas. In an effort to make a universal "danse macabre" out of her own anxieties, she lavishly uses kitschy items and decorations from her own personal collection, or the Internet. 

Her most recent project, "Last Spring," with its aesthetics reminiscent of illustrated fairy tales from her childhood, is fully focused on the experience of the ‘war in the neighborhood,’ – Russia's atrocious invasion of Ukraine.

The dead or sick birds, from migrations hampered by the war, serve as a metaphor for the beautiful spring of 2022, a time of horror for the Ukrainians.  The fear and powerlessness of the introverted Polish painter living in safety, are conveyed by the walls and the window view from the seemingly cosy room. Just like in Marco Antonio Raimondi's enigmatic graphic The Dream of Raphael from the early 16th century, we pretend to be carefree as the drama nearby plays out.

The New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA), the definitive non-profit organization dedicated to the cultivation, support, and advancement of new voices in contemporary art, is pleased to present the 20th edition of NADA Miami, which will be held at Ice Palace Studios from November 30 – December 3, 2022.

This year marks both the 20th edition of NADA Miami—which held its inaugural edition in 2003 with just 35 exhibitors—as well as the 20th anniversary of the New Art Dealers Alliance, which was founded in 2002.

NADA Miami 2022 will showcase a diverse selection of 146 galleries, art spaces, and nonprofit organizations spanning over 40 cities around the globe including Paris, Tokyo, Dubai, Toronto, Buenos Aires, and Copenhagen. This year’s fair includes over 80 NADA members and 37 first-time exhibitors. The fair will also feature NADA Presents, the organization’s signature programming series of conversations, performances, and events, as well as a Curated Spotlight, a special section highlighting a selection of galleries organized by a renowned curator and presented in partnership with TD Bank.
